History, Comprehensive Social Studies

Curriculum Requirements


The Department of History offers a minor in Comprehensive Social Studies at the baccalaureate level.  The primary mission of the department is to educate both undergraduate students in the search for truth through excellence in teaching, scholarly research, and service, thus developing students with knowledge, technological competence, aesthetic and ethical values to be successful in a global society.  The Department will provide history majors and minors with an educational environment and experience that will prepare them to teach at the secondary school level, or to pursue graduate study.

1. 126 semester hours:


Complete a minimum of 126 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU.

2. General Education Requirement:


Freshmen and sophomore years: complete General Education Curriculum  required by the university as detailed on the four-year course of study.
