Online Instructional Design, MA

The Graduate Program in Online Instructional Design focuses on the development of present and future “Technology Trainers & Program-Solvers” in Industry, Entrepreneurial Enterprises, and Organizations. These visionary “Technology Instructors & Consultants” are prepared to deliver leadership, instruction and problem-solving in face to face, blended, and/or virtual learning environments for Professional Development and Training. Candidates develop expertise in E-Learning Engineering, E-Learning Measurement, the implementation of Innovative Online Learning Models, and the design and deployment of E-Learning Content.

I. Program Admissions Requirements


  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited institution;
  • A minimum 2.75 GPA overral at the undergraduate level. Prospective candiates with a GPA between 2.5 and 2.749 must have earned a minimum grade point average of 2.75-3.0 average for the last four semesters of study of their bachelor’s degree;
  • Two letters of recommendation submitted by persons who are knowledgeable about the candidate and their work experience, (preferably those who have worked in a supervisory role with the applicant and who have direct knowledge of the applicant);
  • A personal interview with members of the Faculty (either face to face or virtually); and
  • Official transcripts.

II. Program Requirements


Exit Requirements


  • Successful completion of the Masters Written Examination.
  • Successful presentation of the Comprehensive Program Graduation E-Portfolio.
  • Successful completion of the SOE Program Online Unit Assessment System.
  • Successful Completion of 36 credits/hours (to meet all NSBE - Endorsed Standards).
