Every student in the Kinesiology general concentration track will completed all the required general education courses (37 credit hours), foundational non-departmental required courses (14 credit hours), kinesiology core required courses (32 credit hours) and self-elected electives (37 credit hours) to complete their degree.

Core Courses
The core courses provide the knowledge, skills, abilities, and dispositions that enable students to engage in “the theory and application of research and best practices that support the misunderstanding, development, and promotion of health lifestyles and advance sports. KRA Electives
The 37 Electives can be selected from any Kinesiology (KIN), Physical Education (PETE) and Recreation Administration (RECR) courses that are offered in the department of Kinesiology and Recreation Administration. For example, students can selec electives that provide foundation knowledge to prepare them for careers and graduate programs in exercise psychology, psychosocial aspects of exercise and sports, sports sociology, sport management, sports nutrition, exercise phsyiology, sports law, dance, aquatics, and many others. Students can select any 28 credit hours from courses offered in the department of Kinesiology & Recreation Administration. The following are examples of courses they can select from in Kinesiology. Distribution of Hours: *General Education Curriculum Required Courses - 37 < Kinesiology Core Required Courses - 32 ^Non-Departmental Required Courses - 14 Electives -37 (28 from KRA and 9 free/unrestricted electives from any department in the University) Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 to remain in the major and prior to enrolling in the Internship prior to enrolling in KIN 4620 (Pre-Internship) & internship A minimum GPA of 2.0 overall must be achieved and must have a “C” and above in all departmental courses. Students may select electives from the department or other courses outside the department as approached by the academic advisor. |
