Regulatory Sciences as defined by the FDA, is the science of developing new tools, standards, and approaches to assess the safety, efficacy, quality, and performance of all FDA-regulated products. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has proposed an Intro to Regulatory Sciences Certificate Program to meet the increasing job market demand in regulatory sciences. The objective of this program is to provide students majoring in areas such as pharmaceutical sciences, biology, chemistry, nursing, public health, or psychology as well as Community College students and people who work in other industries a training opportunity for career development in Regulatory Sciences. The program offers 9 credit hours of didactic course work that provides the foundation of Regulatory Sciences including FDA Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices. Graduates of this certificate program are expected to work in pharmaceutical or clinical research organizations or to advantage regulatory sciences education in an academic institution.
