NCCU’s program in Computer Science and Business (CSB) is an interdisciplinary degree created by merging programs in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Business. CSB combines Computer Science and Computer Information Systems to create a discipline that prepares students for long-term success in new technologies, tools and new means of dispersing and controlling information. This program provides a distinctive set of competencies that enables graduates to gain understanding and experience in the innovation process that transforms ideas into products and services, including an understanding of business processes, policies and procedures. The degree encompasses all industries, with a variety of career choices, from programming to networking and project management. The program prepares students to enter careers in computing and information technology, to generate their own entrepreneurial opportunities, as well as pursue graduate study. The CSB degree program offers two specialized concentrations that allows our students to focus on their specific career aspirations. These concentrations are Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Computational. The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) concentration focuses on applying information technology to improve/transform business processes, integrate applications, and manage technical projects. The Computational concentration, with underlying roots in mathematics, physics, and electrical engineering, focuses on the theory and design of computational systems.
