Public Health Education, B.S. (Online)

Curriculum Requirements


The online Public Health Education BS prepares students for careers as health educators in various settings (e.g., public health departments, voluntary health agencies, healthcare organizations, corporate worksites, and community-based organizations). Students take a common core of courses and complete further study in the behavioral, social, and biological sciences; education; communication; and public health. The PHE degree requires 120 total credit hours, with 35 hours of general education courses, 22 hours of cognate requirements, 12 hours of lower-level health education courses, 45 hours of health courses, and 6 hours of electives.

Keep in mind that most students will transfer in at least 24 credit hours. Transfer credits may significantly reduce your required hours to graduate.

1. 120 Credit Hours:


Complete a minimum of 120 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU.

2. General Education Requirements - 35 credit hours
