Formulation and Packaging Science, B.S.


Program Requirements


The Bachelor of Science in Formulation and Packaging Science major is an interdisciplinary program involve developing, formulating, and testing cosmetics and personal care products. This program exposes students to the chemical composition of marketed cosmetic products and will place a strong emphasis on the research, design and formulation of personal care and beauty products. Formulation and Packaging Science majors will also be exposed to the art and business of cosmetics in various required courses. Additionally, students in this major will learn about regulations and how to assess products’ safety, performance, and quality.

Students must be 80% proficient on the Competency Exam to obtain a Verification Statement. Additionally, all N & D students must pass nutrition, sciences, and mathematics courses with a minimum grade of “C”.
