The Certificate in the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) is housed in the Environmental, Earth, and Geospatial Sciences Department and is open to all community members over the age of sixteen, undergraduate students, and graduate students. Students will enroll and complete the courses listed below. The certificate will provide students the knowledge, skills, tools and hands-on experiences needed to leverage opportunities in the rising done industry. Students will be prepared for the FAA Part 107 exam and to enter the greater UAS industry workforce as they learn about UAS policies and procedures. UAS data management, UAS mission planning, UAS sensors, mapping, and UAS design and maintenance.

Semester Hours: 15 credit hours
General Education Requirement:
Students seeking admission will complete and submit an application to Admissions for the Certificate in UAS.
Program Requirements:
Admitted students will complete the following courses at NCCU. Students are allowed to transfer 30% of the courses into the certificate or a total of 3 courses or 9 credits.
Elective Courses (choose one)- 3 hours
Concentration Requirements:
Maintain a 2.5 GPA in all the courses included in the certificate.
Additional Requirements:
Sixteen years of age (FAA requirement to obtain Part 107 license).
Program Notes:
Students do not need to be enrolled in a traditional undergraduate degree track to be eligible for the certificate.
