Curriculum Requirements

The Engineering Physics Concentration provides broad training in physics and mathematics and develops sufficient depth in engineering science to produce graduates who are able to relate basic knowledge to practical problems in engineering. A practicing engineering physicist could be involved in the development of new devices and products using sophisticated physical concepts. Our engineering physics curriculum is designed to educate students to work in areas where technology is changing rapidly and where the boundaries of several traditional engineering disciplines overlap, such as nanomaterials/devices, lasers, materials, superconductors, and semiconductors. Graduates from our Physics (Engineering Physics) degree will also be well aligned with career physicists in industry who carry such titles as test engineer, senior design engineer, manufacturing engineer, senior process development engineer, and software engineer.
