The Certificate in Health Informatics is a 21-credit hour program that prepares students for the emerging industry of electronic medicine and digital records. Students learn about big data analytics and healthcare management of systems and patients. Students obtain the basics about the fields of biomedicine and clinical information science. Students participate in projects utilizing artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, decision systems, robots, and analysis of electronic health records.
Students from many disciplines are eligible to enroll in the Certificate program - from Communications to Computer Systems or Health to History. Professionals in healthcare, nursing, and medical knowledge can expand their skill sets and team up with IT specialists. Certificate students can attend while they work at a job. The program can be completed online with the option of on-campus evening classes. Instructors provide personal mentorship and supervise internships.
