Curriculum Requirements

1. Students must complete a Plan of Graduate Work before completion of the undergraduate degree.

2. Transfer students must have completed a minimum of two semesters as a full-time student at North Carolina Central University, a minimum of 24 hours in the Environmental, Earth and Geospatial Science department before completing a Plan of Graduate work.

3. Students must have a minimum accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 at North Carolina Central University at the time of admission into the ABM degree program.

* required undergraduate or graduate course.

** required for undergraduate program (Environmental Science track)

Note: There are 6 courses (18 credits that are dual listed between graduate and undergraduate programs. However, only 4 courses (12 credits) will be accepted into the graduate program. Besides GEOG 4130/EASC 5130 (Geostatistics) and ENSC 3950/ EASC 5250 (US Environmental Policy and Regulation) which are offered on a regular basis because they are required by either the undergraduate and/or graduate program, the others are offered on a rotating basis and can serve as an electives or core requirements. As a result, it is expected that ABM students will only encounter 4 of these dual listed courses during their junior and senior years as an undergraduate student. If the schedule is arranged so that more that 4 of these courses are offered during their junior and senior years, they will be advised to only take a maximum of 4 courses since only 12 credits can be applied to the 4+1 program.
