Curriculum Requirements


This concentration prepares students for the workforce, graduate schools, and professional schools.  A 2.7 or better GPA must be maintained as the overall GPA as well as in all Spanish courses.

1. 124 Credit Hours:


Complete a maximum of 124 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or better.  The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU. 

2. General Education Requirement:


Complete General Education Curriculum  required by the university as detailed on the four-year course of study.

5. Additional Requirements


Students required to take and pass Praxis I before applying to the Teacher Education program.  Alternatives will be; SAT scores of 1170 or above (or a minimum ACT composite score of 24.)

Specialty Area Exams (Praxis II or NCTEL) Candidates are expected to take and pass PRAXIS II (Spanish world language ETS Test # 5195) prior to Student teaching. Candidates who do not pass the specialty area exam will postpone Student Teaching until such time when the candidate can present passing scores to the program coordinator.
