BIOL 3100 - Genetics (4) Prerequisites: Grade of “C” or better in BIOL 2200 . A study of the broad areas of Mendelian inheritance, linkage, sex-connected inheritance, multiple alleles, multiple genes, molecular genetics, mutation, population genetics, chromosomal aberrations, and application of genetics in agriculture, animal husbandry, and genetic counseling. The laboratory consists of research-oriented experiments, including breeding exercises with Drosophila, analysis of plant growth data, cytogenetics, induction of mutations, and investigation of a construction of human karyotypes and pedigrees genetic engineering. (Three lecture hours and two laboratory hours per week)
