GEOG 4950 - Field Mapping (3) Prerequisites: GEOG 3435 or equivalent. GEOG 4010 is strongly suggested, but can be taken as a co-requisite. This course is designed to expose upper-level DEEGS students to practical skills and techniques necessary to be successful in today’s competitive workforce and graduate school. In this course students will engage in fundamentals of geography field research using GIS as the primary tool to solve a problem that students will encouter in their further professional and/or academic careers. Students will complete a semester long project in which they must produce a map from scratch using a variety of data development and analysis techniques learned in this class and its prerequisites. A field trip will be required during the semester.
