HEDU 2000 - Introduction to Health Education (3) This course provides an introduction to public health education concepts and practice by examining the historical roots, philosophy, purpose, organizations, functions, activities and results of public health practice. The course stimulates discussion of contemporary public health challenges, focusing on the elimination of health disparities. In addition, students are expected to learn the seven major roles and responsibilities of an entry level public health educator and will gain an understanding of the practice of public health education in a variety of work settings. (Three lecture hours per week.)
