ARTV 2830 - Typography I: Type as Image (3)

Pre- or Co-requisite: ARTF 2310  . (Fall only.) In this introductory course, the history and exploration of basic principles of typography and its terminology will be the focus, with an emphasis on interrelations of letter, word, line, page and the logical evolution of the grid as a structural device. This course will explore the structure of type and build on students’ knowledge and exploration of the software applications used working with type design and the development of typographic configurations. Six studio hours per week.
