EASC 5050 - Field Mapping (3)Prerequisites: Entrance into the Earth Science M.S. program or ABM program for current undergraduates. Other participants made on a case by case basis. This course is designed to expose DEEGS students to practical skills and techniques necessary to be successful in today’s competitive workforce. In this course students will engage in fundamentals of geography field research using GIS as the primary tool to solve a problem that students will encounter in their further professional and/or academic careers. Students will complete a semester long project in which they must produce a map from scratch using a variety of data development and analysis techniques learned in this class and its prerequisites. Field work will be required during the semester.
