PHRD 8150 - Biosensors and Nanotechnologies: Theories and Biomedical Applications (3)Pre- or Co-requisite: Consent of the instructor. This course will teach the theory and application of biosensors and chemical sensors in biomedical applications. Concepts of chemical and biological sensing molecules and methods will be explored. Principles of sensing elements in a variety of applications (glucose monitoring, gas sensing and toxicity, disease, DNA detection) will be examined and principles of nanotechnology will be discussed to familiarize students with miniaturized biological and chemical sensors.
