Curriculum Requirements


Students are required to complete (with a grade of C or better), the following:  POLS 1001 , POLS 2100 , POLS 2110 , POLS 2115 , POLS 2330 , POLS 3000  and POLS 3510 .  Students must also complete four electives in a primary concentration, and two electives in a secondary concentration.

1. 124 Semester Hours (39 Semester Hours in the Major):


Complete a minimum of 124 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better.  The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU.  Students must repeat ‘D’ and ‘F’ grades in major required courses.

2. General Education Requirement:


American Government is required of political science majors, and fulfills a Social Science elective for General Education.

Freshman and sophomore years:  complete General Education Curriculum  required by the university as detailed on the four-year course of study.  Students must have a ‘C’ or better in ENG 1110  and ENG 1210 .

5. Additional Requirements


Students must also complete a Writing Intensive course, and a Speaking Intensive course, in addition to community service requirements for the University.
