A minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate mathematics courses with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. 2. Required mathematics courses:

Mathematics elective courses: 15 semester hours chosen from any MATG offering, except MATG 5900 . 4. Successful completion of a reading proficiency examination
Successful completion of a reading proficiency examination in a foreign language or an examination in statistical concepts, or demonstration of proficiency in a modern computer programming language, or completion of an approved graduate statistics course. 5. Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination.
6. Successful completion of an oral examination associated with the thesis.
