Sport Coaching Minor

The Sport Coaching Minor may be chosen by any Physical Education and Recreation degree-seeking NCCU student. The purpose of the coaching minor is to provide guidance for individuals that strive to embark into the exciting world of coaching (National Standards for Sport Coaches, 2006). The courses and qualifications will expand the core body of knowledge, in coaching, through the reflection of eight domains of sport coaching. The domains are recognized by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education in the 1995 publication National Standards for Athletic Coaches.
Requirements: Students must choose no less than 21 credit hours from the following 8 domains, with at least one class per domain. Classes with an * indicate mandatory courses for the Sport Coaching Minor.
