History, B.A.

1. 126 semester hours:

Complete a minimum of 126 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. The last 30 credit hours must be completed at NCCU.

2. General Education Requirement:

Freshman and sophomore years, complete the General Education Requirements. See the “General Education ” section in this catalog.

3. History major requirements:

Complete the following:

1. HIST 1100 
2. HIST 2000  (must be taken in sophomore year)
3. HIST 2210 , HIST 2220 
4. HIST 2890 
5. Two courses from the following areas.  No more than one course in one area:  African History, European History, and Latin American History.
6. One seminar course from HIST 4010 , HIST 4020 , HIST 4040 , HIST 4050 , HIST 4060 , HIST 4070  (must be taken senior year).
7. At least 18 hours from any other 2000 level or higher undergraduate course.
8. In course A-F students must earn at least a grade of “C”, “D”, or “F” grades must be repeated.
9. A minimum GPA of 2.0 in the major is required for graduation.

4. Concentration (12 hours):

At least 9 hours must be in the same area.
