Concentration in Cybersecurity

Foundation Courses

The foundation courses consist of twelve (12) hours of graduate-level courses - four 3 credit hour courses.  The foundation courses should be completed with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Some or all the foundation courses may be waived for students with appropriate prior course work. The following comprise the foundation courses:

• BUSG 5100 - Essentials of Marketing and Management for MBA (3)
• ECON 5015 - Survey of Economics for MBA (3)
• STQM 5050 - Foundation of Quantitative Methods (3)
• FIN 5050 - Foundation of Finance and Accounting (3)

MBA Core - 24 hours

The core courses are the heart of the MBA program. They focus on organizational decision making, behavioral factors impacting decision making, and the environment in which the organization functions. The graduate management core is composed of the following courses:

• CIS 5520 - Management Information Systems (3)
• DSC 5200 - Managerial Statistics (3)
• DSC 5530 - Productions and Systems Management (3)
• ECON 5540 - Economic Analysis (3)
• FIN 5550 - Financial Policies (3)
• MGT 5560 - Behavioral and Management Theory and Analysis (3)
• MKT 5570 - Marketing Strategy (3)

MBA Capstone

Cybersecurity Concentration (12 elective hours required)

The concentration in Cybersecurity provides students with the skills to make a positive impact on the security of data, artificial intelligence, utilizing real world technologies which are critical to business performance. By pursuing a cybersecurity concentration, students can contribute to the larger goal of protecting individuals, organizations, and critical infrastructure from cyber threats while positively impacting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital assets, ultimately ensuring the safety and privacy of people’s information. The NCCU Cybersecurity program is a designated Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) for Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security. Only 12% of 4-Year Universities in the United States have received this designation.
