Students who wish to major in the Recreation Administration Program must have an overall grade point average of 2.25 and apply to be admitted into the program. Applicants must be at least a sophomore and have completed the following courses: RECR 1000, RECR 2120, RECR 2300, and one additional 2000 level RECR course with a GPA average of 2.5 or better.
The National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) establishes the requirements for certification in Recreational Therapy; requirements include the successful completion of BIOL1300, BIOL1610, PSY2100, PSY3100, PSY3310, six credit hours of Human/Social Science Electives, in addition to six Recreational Therapy concentration courses plus a 14 week, 560 hour internship under the supervision of a CTRS.
>Students are required to be senior status, have permission of their advisor, and have completed RECR 4625 prior to enrolling in the RECR 4635. Students must be in good standing and have passed all required courses with a C or better prior to internship placement.

Students are advised that changing their program of study from this major to another major, after the first year, can extend the time until graduation by a semester or more.
