The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.S in IT) is a degree program with three concentrations in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The B.S. in IT offers prospective students’ opportunities to learn and experience both the business and technical aspects of Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Information and Communication Technology.
The Cybersecurity concentration will provide opportunities for students to acquire hands-on experiences and will include high demand skillsets such as computer security, cyber defense and countermeasures, forensics and regulatory compliance.
The Data Analytics concentration will provide opportunities in scientific data analysis and visualization, predictive analysis, prescriptive modeling and optimization, simulation, data-mining and classification.
The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) concentration will provide opportunities for students to acquire core Information Technology skills such as Business Programming, Project Management, Database Management Systems, and Systems Analysis & Design. These students will then use their electives to specialize in ICT specific skills including but not limited to Network Management, Business Analysis, Entrepreneurship, and more.
All other students enrolled at the University may also seek a Minor in CIS. The total number of semester hours required for the minor is at least 21 hours. The prerequisite(s) for each course must be satisfied. All courses must be completed with a grade of at least a “C”.
