I. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS


Students seeking unconditional admission to the graduate program in Criminal Justice must have an earned BS degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75.  A personal statement, two professional letters of recommendation and writing sample is required.

II. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS


Note:


*Practicum (CRIM 5465 ) is required of all students with less than one year experience in the criminal justice field.  If waived, Criminal Justice Course must be substituted for earned credit hours.

Elective Courses - 9 hours


Select courses from the list below.  Some courses will only be offered in fall or spring semester each year.  Students should check with the Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice or the Director of the Program regarding the electives that will be offered for each semester.

Total Credit Hours - 30 hours


III. EXIT REQUIREMENTS


  1. A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in required.  A grade of “B” or better must be earned in the required graduate courses for both Thesis and Criminal Justice Capstone.

  2. At least 30 semester credit hours including the CRIM 5900 - Thesis   or CRIM 5920  -  Criminal Justice Capstone  must successfully complete an oral defense.
