Recreation, Recreation Therapy Concentration, M.S.

1. A minimum of 39 semester hours:

A minimum of 39 semester hours of graduate recreation courses with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

2. Successful completion:

Successful completion of a reading proficiency examination in a foreign language or EDGR 5910 - Introduction to Statistical Methods in Education (3) 

3. Successful completion:

Successful completion of ENGG 5115 - Advanced Professional and Technical Writing (3) 

4. Successful completion of the comprehensive written examination.

5. Admission to candidacy

6. Successful completion of thesis or research project and oral examination.

7. Completion of the core requirements for the Recreation Therapy Concentration:

• RECG 5635 - Graduate Internship in Recreational Therapy (3)

Language Requirement Substitute

• EDGR 5910 - Introduction to Statistical Methods in Education (3) (Does not count toward the 39 required hours.)
• ENGG 5115 - Advanced Professional and Technical Writing (3) (Does not count toward the 39 required hours.)
• Cognate Area - 9 Hours Courses are to be selected in consultation with faculty advisor. It is suggested that the area for Recreational Therapy be Special Education.
