Admission Requirements
Unconditional admission to either of the two graduate programs in mathematics requires completion of the following undergraduate courses with an overall average of “B” or above: three semesters of calculus, one semester each of linear algebra, differential equations, abstract algebra, and advanced calculus. General Mathematics Program, Concentration in Applied Mathematics
1. A minimum of 30 semester hours:
A minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate mathematics courses with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. 2. Required mathematics courses:

15 semester hours chosen from any MATG offering, except 4. Successful completion
Successful completion of a reading proficiency examination in a foreign language or an examination in statistical concepts, or demonstration of proficiency in a modern computer programming language, or completion of an approved graduate statistics course. 5. Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination.
6. Successful completion of an oral examination associated with the thesis.
