Overview
Clinical Research Sciences is a branch of health science focused on studying safety and effectiveness of medication, device, diagnostic products and treatment regimens intended for human use. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has proposed a Clinical Research Science Certificate program to meet the increasing job market demand in clinical research. The Clinical Research Sciences Program (CRSP) will provide students with a blended learning experience by incorporating didactic and online learning with a hands-on clinical research experience. Our program will offer working professionals currently holding a Bachelor in Science degree an opportunity to earn a graduate certificate in clinical research. After completion, graduates will be eligible for careers in clinical research, as a Clinical Research Associate, study monitor, or study coordinator working in a contract research organization, pharmaceutical company, or in academia. The program offers 9 credit hours of didactic course work and a 3 credit clinical rotation in Duke Clinical Research Center or other partnering organization. Graduates of this program are expected to be workforce ready for jobs in clinical research organizations or to pursue other opportunities to advance their clinical research education in an academic institution.
