I. Admission Requirements


Perspective students interested in the Master of Science in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration should hold a baccalaureate degree in a related field from an accredited institution. GRE scores are NOT REQUIRED. Applicants for admission to the graduate program in kinesiology and recreation administration must follow the NCCU Graduate School admission procedures.

Students interested in the Master of Science in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration Physical Education Teacher Education Concentration must have earned an undergraduate degree in Physical Education from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional association.

Students seeking the Master of Science in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration’s Physical Education Concentration must also have the North Carolina “A” license or the equivalent from another state.

II. Program Requirements


Total Credits in the Research Option - 33 hours


Total Credits in Project Option - 33 hours


Total Credits in the Internship Option - 33 hours


Elective Courses in Athletic Administration


Course electives can be selected from the following list of courses:

Depending on which Exit Option students choose, the number of electives will vary.  Students will be required to take the number of elective courses needed to reach 33 (Thesis Option) or 33 (Non-Thesis Option) credit hours.  With the approval of their advisor, students may select elective courses not listed below.  Note:  Some of these courses are offered once every four semesters and some are offered every other semester.  Students should check with the graduate coordinator to assess availability of these approved courses.
