I. Admission Requirements
The Department of History requires an undergraduate degree, preferably in history, at least a 2.7 undergraduate grade point average, two letters of recommendation, transcripts, a writing sample, and a personal statement. They also must take the GRE.
Elective Courses in the History - 24 hours
Course electives may be selected from any graduate history courses (HISG 5000 level)
Total Credit Hours - 33-36 hours
III. Exit Requirements
- Completion of 30 credit hours of course work with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive written examination.
- Successful completion of a thesis (3-6 credit hours) and of the oral examination in defense of that thesis.
