Curriculum Requirements

The Minor in a Foreign Language is designed to enhance student career opportunities by providing a secondary field of expertise no matter what the major may be. It is especially useful for students majoring in a field where significant contributions to knowledge come from outside the English-speaking world or where actual career practice involves contact with significant numbers of non-English speakers. The Minor in French, German, or Spanish consists of at least 21 semester hours in the target language. This includes one elementary III General Education Curriculum (GEC) course plus six additional courses. In French and Spanish, the GEC course should be followed immediately by the 2100 and 2200 courses. In German, the GEC courses may be followed by any 2000-level German course.
