Registered Nurses, B.S.N.

Registered Nurses (RN-BSN) Program

The Department of Nursing supports the concept of educational mobility for returning registered nurses (RNs) and is committed to extending opportunities for RNs to achieve the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. 

* Graduation from an approved basic nursing program.
* Current and unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in state of employment.
* Admission to North Carolina Central University.

Curriculum Requirements


  1. Completion of a minimum of 125.5 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. The last 33 hours of course credit must be completed at NCCU.
  2. Completion of the General Education Curriculum  (GEC) and prerequisites for the Nursing major.
  3. Satisfactory completion of NURS 4520 . Students will receive 63.5 semester hours of advanced placement credits upon successful completion of this course and satisfaction of all admission requirements.
