Overview
The Department of Kinesiology and Recreation Administration offers an on-campus and online Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration. Concentrations include Athletic Administration, Physical Education Teacher Education, Recreation Management, Adapted Sports Science and Recreation, Kinesiology, and Recreational Therapy. These concentrations provide a comprehensive graduate education in kinesiology and recreation administration and are created to stimulate professional competence, scholarship, and independent research skills. They are also designed to provide advanced study in teaching, learning, curriculum development, and leadership.
I. Admission Requirements

Perspective students interested in the on-campus and online Master of Science in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration should hold a baccalaureate degree in a related field from an accredited institution. GRE scores are NOT REQUIRED. Applicants for admission to the graduate program in Kinesiology and Recreation Administration must follow the NCCU Graduate School admission procedures. Students interested in the Master of Science in Physical Education Teacher Education Concentration must have earned an undergraduate degree in Physical Education from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional association. Students seeking the Master of Science in the Physical Education Teacher Education Concentration must also have a North Carolina “A” license or the equivalent from another state.

III. Exit Requirements
________________________________________
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher is required. Students must complete a minimum of 33 hours of coursework including a Thesis for the MS with Thesis option, a minimum of 33 hours of coursework including a Project for the MS with Project option, and a minimum of 33 hours of coursework including a 6-credit hour Internship for the MS with Internship option.
