EPHY 4600 - Materials Characterization Laboratory (3) Prerequisites: EPHY 3200 Material Science or Permission of Instructor. This course is designed to provide the students with the theoretical background and hands-on experience with instrumentation required to characterize the morphology, structure and properties of materials. The lecture component of this course will focus on the physical principles underlying the measurement techniques and analysis of collected data. The laboratory component will focus on safe and effective operation of advanced instrumentation. (One lecture and three laboratory hours per week).
