ENG 2510 - Language, Culture, and Communication (3) The anthropological study of language analyzes communication in light of socio-cultural diversity. This course focuses on the anthropology of language to illustrate how communication practices (as well as linguistic meanings and messages) are comparatively grounded in socio-cultural formations. It examines how language is both an individual and collective form of communication and focuses on how people socio-culturally negotiate, contest, and reproduce it over time.
