CSEC 5010 - Cybesecurity Ethical Hacking and (3) Pre- or Co-requisite: Permission of Instructor. The world continues to experience an increase in the negative and devastating effects of terrorism and corporate espionage. This course integrates theories, practices, and concepts in ethical hacking & penetration testing to provide an in-depth understanding of how to protect corporate & government data and computing resources against cyberattacks. Some of the key areas covered include introduction to Linux, ethical hacking & penetration testing, current Cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, network level attacks & countermeasures, penetration testing standards from NSA, PCI, & NIST, as well as current tools and methodologies. The course includes multiple hands-on labs related to real-world tasks to reinforce the covered concepts. Open for undergraduate students with permission of instructor.
