	CRJU 4600 - Senior Seminar (3) Criminal Justice seniors with permission of the instructor. This is the capstone course for criminal justice majors, which requires students to demonstrate, through reflection and critical analysis, their ability to integrate subject matter in the department’s core areas of study. This student-centered course will require students to integrate their knowledge and skills to analyze a contemporary issue in criminal justice and provide a corrective course of action, which incorporates a nexus between theory and practice and related policy. 	CRJU 4700 - Criminal Justice CO-OP (1 to 12) Prerequisites: Minimum of 75 earned credit hours and permission from the department chair. This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to have a work experience aligned with their career interest. The course varies between 10 and 40 hours per week at an approved agency. 	CRSB 1000 - Principles of Clinical Research (3) This course offers a comprehensive overview of the history and evolution of the clinical research process and the conduct of clinical trials. Students will also explore current topics on drug/device development from discovery to approval, Human Subjects protections, and the different roles and responsibilities of those involved in research. 	CRSB 1010 - Good Clinical Practices (1) Prerequisites: CRSB 1000 This is a 1-credit course for students meeting the requirements for the Clinical Research Program. This course will help the student understand the responsibilities and expectations for conduct, monitoring, reporting and documenting of clinical trials. Students will learn to distinguish between GCP and GMP in pharmaceutical, device and biologic GCP, and understand corrective action and compliance standards as well as the legal and procedural elements of GCP. 	CRSB 2000 - Regulatory Sciences (3) Prerequisites: PHRM 1000 , or BIOL 1610 , or BIOL 1620 This course delivers an overview of regulatory affairs in clinical trials and regulation of the pharmaceutical industry by the FDA and other governing bodies. 	CRSB 3000 - Biobanking and Interpreting Laboratory Data (1) Prerequisites: CRSB 1000 or permission from the course instructor. This is a 1-credit course for students meeting the requirements for the Clinical Research Program. This course will give students a general overview of laboratory tests used to evaluate organ systems and various types of diseases. Students will learn why certain tests are used, what the normal range values are for each test and how to interpret abnormal laboratory results, with case study examples. In the biobanking portion of the course, students will be introduced to the basics of biobanking, the ethical considerations in specimen collection and the process of collecting and processing samples for storage or distribution to repositories. 	CRSB 3010 - Clinical Trial Management I (3) Prerequisites: CRSB 1000 or permission from the course instructor This course offers in depth guidance on steps and processes involved for the Sponsor or CRO in implementing, monitoring and managing clinical trials. Students will be guided in developing project plans, study goals, budget and contract preparation; and how to implement monitoring visits, and effectively manage research sites by designing their own sample research study. 	CRSB 3020 - Clinical Trial Management II (3) Prerequisites: CRSB 3010 or permission from the course instructor This course will expound on the principles laid out in Clinical Trial Management I. Students will be able to go through the process of running a clinical trial by exploring the different roles and responsibilities. 	CRSB 3030 - Clinical Biostatistics (3) Prerequisites: CRSB 1000 or permission by instructor. This course offers advanced exposure to the biostatistics methodologies used in medical research. It includes a review of the most common techniques in the field, as well as the manner in which these techniques are applied in standard statistical software. Students will learn how to choose an appropriate study design, and develop quantitative skill to; understand and calculate the appropriate sample size needed for a study; analyze the collected data;and present study results to an audience. 	CRSB 3060 - Clinical Trial Protocol Design (1) Prerequisites: NURS 2030 , CRSB 1000 This course will explore the key elements and different designs in writing a research protocol for clinical trials. Students will receive instruction on managing timelines, input from key opinion leaders, statistical information, ethical standards and safety events and reporting by developing their own sample protocol. 	CRSB 3070 - Clinical Rotation (3) Prerequisites: Pre- or Co-requisite: CRSB 1010 CRSB 1000 , or must be registered in the Clinical Research Sciences Certificate program. This is a 15-week clinical research rotation course for students meeting the requirements for the Clinical Research Sciences Program. Student participation in the clinical rotation course will expand didactic knowledge in clinical data collection, data management, data analysis, clinical trial design, onsite project management, regulatory affairs, and the overall clinical research enterprise in the following ways: 1) participating in guided tours of contract research organizations (CROs), academic, and pharmaceutical organization facilities engaged in clinical research; 2) attending lectures from experts in the area of data management, regulatory affairs, and clinical trial operations; 3) attending a local Institutional Review Board meeting and participating in a clinical research protocol review; 4) Reading, reviewing, and discussing case study examples that highlight the current issues in clinical trials research. Students will be supervised by the clinical research faculty in the department. 	CRSB 4000 - Medical Bioethics (3) Prerequisites: NURS 2030 , or permission from course instructor This course is designed to offer students an overview of the ethical issues surrounding the conduct of clinical research. During this course, students will learn about early research studies in human subjects that ended in tragedy and lead to the creation regulations regarding the conduct of clinical research. Students will understand how ethical issues can be avoided as well as the role that the Food and Drug Administration and Institutional Review Boards play in protecting patients from the unethical research. This course covers the conduct of research in children, pregnant women, impaired individuals, as well as minority and international communities. 	CRSB 4020 - Advanced Data Mangement (3) Prerequisites: CRSB 3010 or permission by instructor This course offers a comprehensive understanding the process of retrieving, maintaining,and querying clinical data as well as the data management systems involved to perform those tasks. Students will learn about various data collection methods, data quality control,and FDA laws and regulations around data handling. 	CRSB 4030 - Clinical Internship and Research (14) Prerequisites: CRSB 3010 CRSB 3020 This is a one semester long clinical research rotation course for students meeting the requirements for the Clinical Research Certificate Program. The student will acquire in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in clinical research sciences related subject areas. Student will gain experience in clinical data collection, data management, data analysis, clinical trial design, onsite project management, and data presentation. Students will be supervised by instructors in clinical research organizations or clinical research faculty in the department. 	CSB 2000 - Introduction to Computer Science and Business (3) This course describes the Computer Science, Information Systems and Business disciplines, the synergy between them, and the career opportunities in these fields. The course emphasizes computational thinking and the strategic use and implication of information technology in the business environment. To illustrate the use of technology to solve business problems, the following topics will be covered: fundamental systems components, business processes, data management, security and systems development. Additionally, career options in topic areas will be elucidated through guest speakers from industry and academia and through multimedia presentations such as “A Day in the Life of…”-series. 	CSB 3000 - Computer and Business Ethics (3) Prerequisites: Junior Classification This course enables students to understand and apply an ethically principled reasoning approach to business and computer-related issues. The course exposes students to the theoretical concepts of basic moral principles and the application of these principles to case-based ethical, legal, and social technology dilemmas that occur in computer and business environments. 	CSB 4900 - Capstone I (3) Prerequisites: Senior Classification, CIS 4600 or Approval of Instructor This is the first course of the capstone 2-semester sequence which will address challenging computing/business problems. The course draws on the students’ technological capabilities, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills. An individual student or team of 2 students will work on designing and implementing software programs. Teams will experience the entire software development project cycle: user requirements, feasibility assessment, project planning, project implementation, performance testing and documentation. Projects may be from industry partners, entrepreneurial or in-house. This course requires the submission of a written project report and an oral public presentation of the project. The students will work on the same project for CSB 4900 & 4910 over the span of two semester. This course will satisfy the Speaking Intensive and Writing Intensive requirement of GEC. 	CSB 4910 - Capstone II (3) Prerequisites: Senior Classification and C or better in CSB 4900 . This is the second course of the capstone 2-semester sequence course which will address challenging computing/business problems. The course draws on the students’ technological capabilities, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills. An individual student or a team of 2 students will work on designing and implementing software programs. Teams will experience the entire software development project cycle: user requirements, feasibility assessment, project planning, project implementation, performance testing and documentation. Projects may be from industry partners, entrepreneurial or in-house. This course requires the submission of the developed and implemented software product, a written project report and an oral public presentation of the project. The students will work on the same project for CSB 4900 & 4910 over the span of two semesters. This course will satisfy the Speaking Intensive and Writing Intensive requirement of GEC. 	CSEC 2000 - Cybersecurity Fundamentals (3) Prerequisites: CIS 2500 - Information Technology and Systems Software The goal of the course is to introduce students to the world of computer security, cybercrime and cyberterrorism. The course accomplishes these goals by exposing students to concepts in cyberstalking, denial of service attacks, malware, hacking techniques, espionage, encryption, and security software and policies. The course also covers topics addressing issues related to network scanning and vulnerability, cyber terrorism, cyber detectives, and forensics. 	CSEC 2010 - Networking Fundamentals (3) Prerequisites: CIS 2500 - Information Technology and Systems Software . The goal of this course is to provide the student with an outlook of computer networking from the viewpoint of a network administrator. The course introduces the student to the work of computer networking by covering concepts related to Ethernet networks, routing protocols and router configuration, and TCP/IP based networks. This course introduces the basics through advanced techniques on how to secure Linux systems, networks, applications, and data. The course provides tools and techniques for enforcing and troubleshooting security to protect systems, even if one or more layers are penetrated. 	DANC 2130 - Dance Repertory (1) Dance Repertory is designed for the individual performer to build performance skills and stagecraft through learning, rehearsing and performing dance works in a variety of styles. 	DANC 2140 - The Evolution of Black Vernacular Dance from Minstrelsy to Hip Hop (3) This course addresses the origin and evolution of the African American dance tradition in popular culture from the minstrelsy to hip hop culture. Emphasis placed on the social, political, and economic environment in which it was fashioned. Pioneers, innovators, terminology, and styles will be identified. 	DANC 2300 - Pilates I (1) Pilates I, is a physical approach to an increased understanding of the practical development of the individual student’s core strength and flexibility. 	DANC 2310 - Pilates II (2) Prerequisites: Pilates I Pilates II is a continual development of Pilates I. 	DANC 3000 - Dance Kinesiology (3) This course focuses on the principles of anatomy and kinesiology as it relates to dance technique, performance, lifestyle, and injury prevention. Emphasis is placed on the structure and function of the muscular and skeletal systems. Movement analysis, conditioning principles, and basic nutrition will also be covered. 	DANC 3100 - Dance History (3) Through reading, lecture and video viewing, the major figures, events and movements of North American and Western European Modern Dance are presented chronologically, with the goal of increasing students’ understanding of the driving force behind each choreographer’s work, their lineages and their social, political and artistic contexts. 	DANC 3320 - Acting for the Camera (3) Allows stage actors to learn and explore basic acting styles and techniques for the camera. The students will utilize appropriate vocabulary and learn concepts required and reflective of screen acting. This course also examines the business aspect of acting in the film industry covering such topics as acquisition of acting agents,developing resumes and preparing for film auditions. 	DANC 4010 - Dance Composition I (1) Prerequisites: DANC 2010 , DANC 2020 , DANC 2030 or permission of instructor. 	DANC 4011 - Composition II (2) Prerequisites: DANC 4010 - Dance Composition I This intermediate course is designed to provide students with compositional experience working in primarily small groups. The course will review the basic principles learned in DANC 4010- Dance Composition I. This course will enable the student to study and employ the concepts of group composition with the option of presenting their work in a formal or informal setting. 	DANC 4012 - Composition III (2) Prerequisites: DANC 4010 - Dance Composition I This advance course is designed to provide students with compositional experience working in small and large groups in a broad range of artistic and cultural contexts. This course is designed to provide senior Dance Education majors an opportunity to analyze, synthesize, and apply knowledge and skills gained throughout the dance program. 	DANC 4080 - International Dance Study Tour (2) This is an academic course designed to facilitate the exploration and deepened understanding of diverse cultures through immersion into authentic, interactive learning experiences. 	DANC 4100 - Integrated Dance: From Therapeutic Practice to Performance (3) Prerequisites: DANC 3000 - Dance Kinesiology This course investigates and explores ways of teaching and creating dance suitable for diverse participants with a broad range of physical and conceptual abilities. 	DANC 4110 - Somatic Education (2) Prerequisites: DANC 3000 - Dance Kinesiology The discipline of somatic studies emphasizes the unity of mind and body, and an integrated experience from within, through conscious guided movement and opportunity for increased self-awareness. The course will introduce students to an understanding of general somatic principles, and a range of modalities. Additionally, the course will focus on experiential learning including embodied anatomy,developmental movement, guided imagery, as well a re-patterning and hands-on techniques. Somatic studies as applied to dance will offer the opportunity for students to deepen perceptual abilities and sensory awareness, and increase movement capability, ease, efficiency,and expressively. 	DANC 4400 - Elementary School Dance Pedagogy (3) This course is designed to introduce pre-service and in-service elementary school teachers to dance teaching methodology, curriculum development including planning management, assessment and evaluation of the teaching-learning process, basic concepts of healthful living and understanding diverse learners as a culturally responsive educator for elementary grades. 10 hours of field experience is required. 	DRAM 2000 - Theatre Practice (1) (Fall, Spring) Extensive, faculty supervised applications in technical theatre, costuming, management, acting, directing, and promotions as the student assist in preparing for two major theatrical productions each semester. Credit of 1 to 3 semester hours will be earned based on level of student involvement. May be repeated for credit. (Must attend Majors’ Lab for assignments.) 	DRAM 2022 - Hip Hop Theatre (3) This course examines the influence of Hip Hop music, dance, visual art, and philosophy on the content and character of contemporary American drama and culture. Thus, Hip Hop Theatre is at the core of this exploration. Primary considerations are identifying this “new” aesthetic; recognizing its origins and major players; and analyzing its convergence of art, culture, politics and community. The origins and history of Hip Hop as well as its performance elements and cultural and political significance will be explored with the African American culture as a backdrop. 	DRAM 2030 - Technical Theatre I (3) (Fall) An introduction to the basic operation of shop tools, stage hardware and equipment, the primary elements of stage construction, and the technical elements of staging, basic design and color theory, and mechanical drawing.
