Curriculum Requirements


This concentration is designed to give students an instructional foundation in foods and nutrition and prepare them for entry-level positions in dietetics and nutrition. The dietetic concentration at NCCU is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, (312)899-0040 ext 5400. http://www.eatright.org/ACEND.

1. 121 Credit Hours:


Complete a minimum of 121 semester hours. The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU. Students must repeat ‘D’ and ‘F’ grades in all major courses.

2. General Education Requirement:


Students may place into MATH 1200  or take MATH 1000  and MATH 1100  in succession.  A grade of ‘C’ or better should be earned in MATH 1200

To earn a Verification Statement, students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and pass a didactic Competency Exam with an 80%.

Program Notes:


MATH 1110  may be taken in lieu of EDU 3700 

Recommended Electives: HEDU 3210 , BIOL 3100 , PEDU 4110 , PEDU 4120 , and PSY 4121 .
