Curriculum Requirements


The Department of Psychology’s undergraduate program offers comprehensive exposure to the prominent theories and concepts of modern psychology. The curriculum is designed to cultivate critical thinking, analyses, and application of psychological theories and paradigms through effective teaching and research.  Students graduating with the Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology will be able to assume positions in the human services field and/ or pursue graduate training in Psychology and other behavioral sciences. Students who plan to major in Psychology must complete English 1100 with a grade of “C” or higher before admittance to the major.

1. 120 Credit Hours:


Complete a minimum of 120 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. The last 30 hours must be completed at NCCU. Students must earn grades of “C” or higher in all courses required for the major. Students must earn grades of “C” or higher in prerequisite courses before admittance to courses for which the prerequisites are required.

2. General Education Requirement:


Complete General Education Curriculum  as required by the university and detailed on the four-year course of study. Students must have a “C” or better in ENG 1100.
