LSIS 5320 - Global Librarianship (3)

This course focuses on library and information science in context of global issues. It examines library service in other countries and international efforts to cooperate to increase access to information on w a worldwide basis. This includes opportunities to examine international librarianship and how that differs from comparative librarianship. Using this is a backdrop we will explore the historical and contemporary practices of global librarianship, which include international development and library aid, international standards and information policy, library cooperation and the global information landscape, and different models of library systems across different country contexts.
