CRSB 3070 - Clinical Rotation (3)


Prerequisites:  

  Pre- or Co-requisite: CRSB 1010   CRSB 1000  , or must be registered in the Clinical Research Sciences Certificate program. This is a 15-week clinical research rotation course for students meeting the requirements for the Clinical Research Sciences Program. Student participation in the clinical rotation course will expand didactic knowledge in clinical data collection, data management, data analysis, clinical trial design, onsite project management, regulatory affairs, and the overall clinical research enterprise in the following ways: 1) participating in guided tours of contract research organizations (CROs), academic, and pharmaceutical organization facilities engaged in clinical research; 2) attending lectures from experts in the area of data management, regulatory affairs, and clinical trial operations; 3) attending a local Institutional Review Board meeting and participating in a clinical research protocol review; 4) Reading, reviewing, and discussing case study examples that highlight the current issues in clinical trials research. Students will be supervised by the clinical research faculty in the department. Subject knowledge attained from on-site visits and guest lectures will be assessed, and students are requires to submit a written report to the instructor.
